For the second successive year, former National Champion Moto-Cross (in the USA and Holland) Pierre Karsmakers was invited as a special guest to be present at the Weekend of Champions organized by Yamaha USA during the races at Daytona Speedway early this year. Pierre, a Daytona Speedway Hall of Fame inductee, was part of the USA Yamaha team in the ’70 s. A special T-shirt was designed to highlight this weekend. After his motocross career in the States, Pierre was a pioneer importer of BMX bikes and products in the starting period of it all in Europe, 1976 and on. He was the first to import BMX stuff and can be considered an Old Skool pioneer in the business section. Pierre will be present during the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of BMX in Europe in Dessel- Belgium, September 27th. 2003.
