Does Factory Teams

Since the early days of BMX, I have been able to organize several official BMX trade/ factory teams. In some of them I was active myself as team-manager in others I did find interested people to act as team-managers. Main reason to set up teams was to professionalize the sport and improve the image of BMX. Also riders were helped with free equipment and in some cases financial help was offered.

Up and till 1989 all team members were Dutch. In 1990 I organized the first official "European" BMX Team.

It was in December 1998 that I officialy announced to stop with all activities in the field of organizing events and running teams. I have been doing this kind of thing for 25 years now and wanted to look for new challenges and let the new generation take over.
